The pop stars will have other moments to shine, last time I checked they’re all already extremely high profile anyway, but it would’ve been nice to see one of them win. I've heard better songs from Indian films, but this is catchy, people like RRR, and they want to award it 'something' (it's clearly not getting best pic/best director). I also think there would be a little backlash if she won again tbh only four years after Shallow. Plus, if she writes an original song for Joker (which seems very likely, even if she doesn't do the whole album) she'll have more of an 'overdue' narrative. As much as I love Hold My Hand it never really felt like they were trying hard to push this to another win and honestly not even mad it lost. This is probably a nice move to her Actress race for Joker 2 which is still VERY hard to win because there's always so much competition but will probably be better in the end and I'm sure she'd rather get recognition for that after winning Song already.
