Starmie25 18,376
It's really heart-warming seeing a new generation and even non stans embrace her music at the moment. They're just casually streaming "Dance Dance Dance" or watching the "Judas" mv on youtube probably unaware of all the false narratives over the years - toxic media, Gaga haters, backlash from her own fans, "dated and forgetten", 2011 Fad, Swine controversy, Vegas etc etc. And yes I am well aware other artists are experiencing similar trends too, but I mention Gaga because well, the forum we're on lol and you can't deny her music and content for most part has been uniquely her! Not easy. Wdyt?
lilmonster2424 1,705
It's so amazing to see, that last tiktok is everything! But not half of the Just Dance requests being for the sped up version I wish she would just release those versions, Madonna just did so why not? There's so many unofficial remixes and youtube videos getting so many streams
Bonkers 29,480
Katy Perry and the other pop girls don't currently have any competing projects, and Taylor Swift is undeniably at the top - but because of recent music and a planned tour. So there are fan wars going on with people tearing each other down. That is what the stigma was for the most part. And it wasn't really a thing with most poeple. I think some stars have aligned and the music stands the test of time and Lady Gaga has proven herself as a beloved icon. Tyler1992 2,264
Her legacy is manifesting in all of the right places! I definitely believe the risks she has taken during her career are paying off, and are being recognized with a fresh perspective and time. There’s a generation that aren’t laughing at her for not hitting #1, who aren’t annoyed at her for being #1 and on top. They just get to see interesting, creative performances, music videos, interviews, songs, etc. The Tik Tok generation grew up with Joanne, ASIB, gorgeous red carpets appearances. Seeing her old stuff is cool to see!! I think she’s being vindicated for the crap she had to go through.
androiduser 7,438
a STIGMA? some people are really dramatic....

Oriane 20,932
If anything I'd say the Stigma is the meat dress, and all the crazy outfits. That's the only thing people ever talk about when I mention her. All the rest is too specific, only stans on Twitter know about that. The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!

There was a stigma.. Most of the GP thought the jig was up and Gaga was nothing more than wild antics and attention seeking.
Killa 17,460
I was kinda thinking the same. She was still popular within the general public, but there was always the commentary of her being too weird, too gay, try hard, too theatrical. I seem to gather its all just considered fun and part of pop world. It’s pretty clear people woke up for older gaga music.
ALGAYDO 32,420
Honestly I was thinking the same thing. How just 10 years ago it was cool to hate Lady Gaga. Everyone in the media was taking jabs at her, and the whole GP was laughing along. It was “embarrassing” to admit you liked Gaga. And Now look how far she’s gone… truly a once-in-a-lifetime kind of celebrity

Not easy. Wdyt? I agree with you that this stigma is fading for Gaga. Younger generations do not know or simply overlook what was connected before to a controversial song in the pop culture before ( see Judas for example ). There are many examples...not only Gaga. Abba in the 70s in a time where It was cool to be on the left or extremely left of politics and culture It was cool to listen to rock or protest folk songs.. Abba were considered as superficial, not politically implicated artists of the capitalistic record industry..Just a puppet of the record industry..It was completely uncool...now starting from the 90s and the musicals and films with their music they are present everywhere at any party or situation. The stigma Is away. We can say the same thing for younger artists as Enya, Celine Dion etc etc...Sometime this trend from stigma to coolness is the opposite...see Madonna for example... From undisputabile queen of pop to a ridicolous pop personality..She Is still the Queen of pop but not because she Is now the Queen of pop but because she was the last Queen of pop and younger artists as Rodrigo, Taylor, Ariana ir Gaga or Beyoncé are not interested to presento themsekves as Queens.....Madge cultural relevance in the pop music in the years before Is undeniable but many have now a stigma for her..They do no longer connect to her...She Is no longer at the center of the music world as she was before... And if I see her twitters now this centrifugal trend goes on and on..
Ivy 12,485
I hope so. I definitely think she's the type of artist that is going to be more appreciated over time, especially when no one is doing it like her the meow in zombieboy
