In the words of Sir Elton John, Karen has one of the greatest voices of our lifetime. She definitely deserves a better spot (as do many others).

But yeah, this list doesn't mean anything, it's just a random opinions.

Sure but I’m saying that the list is about vocal performance (which is more than ability; performance is about the stylistic and artistic choices one makes as well) not necessarily talent exclusively. But even on that metric, which defends inclusions of the likes of Springsteen and Bob Dylan, tbh Taylor shouldn’t be there when someone like Shania Twain isn’t. Taylor is a star for her songwriting but I think it’s a little disingenuous to say she’s ever given a particularly standout knockout vocal performance compared to fellow country-pop pioneers like Shania. That’s just my two cents. The list is about best *singers* which encompasses more about the performance aspect and what they’re able to do and evoke with their voice outside of pure technical talent. It doesn’t (or at least shouldn’t) factor in songwriting at all. And if it does, then ****, Bjork needs to be MUCH higher for the sheer scale of complexity and innovation of her discography, and it would mess with a lot of the ranking on this. I think they out TSwift in there for popularity sake (same with Rihanna) but if we’re gonna be honest with ourselves, neither really has a spot here. Like, I didn’t see Madonna but I’d put her and Rihanna in a similar bucket of vocalist performance. It’s an odd list def designed to be controversial lmao

It is kind of a strange thought but this 'of all time' list only has singers from the last century. Like there were no great vocalists among the billions of people who lived in the 10.000+ years prior. The greatest vocalist was probably some unknown person in 300 BC who we will never know even existed. 

But I'm too philosophical right now. 😂

where tf is Maria callas and Julie andrews? I’m sure they’re keeping it solo recording artists but that’s omitting some of the greatest vocal talents of the western canon  and also Ms julie did release a Christmas album so she’d still be eligible

Again, I’m not defending the list. I know it’s flawed and I know that there are artists there that probably are ranked higher than they deserve and that there are artists who are completely omitted who deserve to be on the list. At the end of the day, it’s just an opinion piece made by one organization. No matter who they decided to put where, you’d end up pissing off someone. Idk why people are taking this so seriously

it's about the artist's overall relevance, talent, discography, influence, ability... I think the word "singers" in the titlee is misleading
