The Weeknd overtakes Ed Sheeran with Spotify's most streamed song

Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ was Spotify’s most streamed song for over four years (!!!) but was surpassed by The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ on January 1, 2023. Both songs remain very close: 

January 2 2023:

Blinding Lights: 3,334,180,640 total streams

Shape Of You: 3,332,970,120 total streams.

Insane numbers!!

For comparison, Gaga’s biggest hit of the streaming era, ‘Shallow’, is currently at 1,976,181,750 streams (also a very nice score!).
