JFK Assassination. And just the whole era of the 60s and the First Lady Jackie O. Seeing what they would have posted to social media and just being alive during that time. :vegas:

I would pay good money to alter reality to experience these two.

9/11. Imagine the videos and instagram stories we’d have today with iPhones. Holy sh!t.

It’s also very disturbing to think what World War I and II would’ve been like with social media back then. The Holocaust omg. :rip:

Guys, some of these are stretching the definition of "Pop Culture"!

Imma throw out the Madonna MTV interview that was crashed by an off-her-face Courtney Love.

And one I am glad was NOT in the era of Social Media: the break up of Take That. The helplines were too much.

Yaaaas Gaga

Some people mentioning 9/11 but that would not have been good to see it play out on social media as some of the videos would've been too graphic.

I'll keep mine a bit lighter and music related:

- Lady Gaga 2009 - 2011 (i know social media was around during this time but it was only just getting started)

- Britney Spear's music career 1998- 2007 (i.e. the period just before social media)

- Madonna's music career

- Michael Jackson's music career

Ok, but it's somehow disturbing to see people in here that want to relive WW I+II, the deaths of celebrities etc. in the social media era.

This shows that not only the media is the problem, but people really are interested in negative news.

I don't get the concept of this thread? Like, would you have loved to see tik toks of Diana's car accident or what?

With me being interested in living during the 50s and 60s and seeing Jackie Kennedy rise as a fashion icon and the JFK assassination and the effects it had, it’s one of those crucial decades in history. And if social media existed when John F Kennedy rode through Dallas, people would have all had their phones out recording and maybe something could have been done to thwart the shooter, and the conspiracies after about the shooting. “Where were you when you heard JFK was shot?” is similar to the whole “where were you on 9/11?”, it’s one of those pivotal moments everyone remembers.
