I have this feeling that the version Gaga is going to bring of Harley Quinn is actually going to be kind of....frumpy and ugly.

I know that is not pc but...I totally just mean it as a character development thing....I do not think they are going to go full on sexy with her...I think she is going to be totally different than Margot Robbie's iteration and be a very (actually) awkward and weird person who is severely misunderstood. Infact, I don't really think her iteration of Harley is going to be very sexy at all....more downright realistic of a nerdy awkward girl who has no style or taste whatsoever and then, BAM...transforms into this kind of feaux liberated mentally unhinged monster. Maybe her whole shtick is that she is not "beautiful" like the girls on social media so she kind of defies that by being kind of over the top and ridiculous and clownish as a response to make fun of the "perfectionist" and filter culture on the internet. Maybe that is why she loses it. Think Princess Diaries but instead of cleaning up like Anne Hathaway, she gets messy and decides to blow up the castle. 

I also don't think the Joker and her are going to have the romantic relationship we think. I think this is going to be much more complex than that and I think it is going to be more of a political thing or "movement" thing, and there might be at one point a sexual relationship between them but it is going to be very toxic and cruel. Like maybe the Joker uses her for more followers and she gains social media attention for all the "anti-pretty" people. But really he doesn't give a **** about her at all because he is a psychopath. And her maybe being borderline drives her to either kill him or get killed. Because, let's be honest....the original story of the Joker and Harley Quinn was really a metaphor for how narcissists or people with NPD (Joker) tend to draw in people with BPD (Harley Quinn). Harley's character has abandonment issues. Joker was ignored growing up. It kind of makes sense that a more serious iteration of the Joker vs. Harley thing would actually be about this.

 

And considering Gaga already is down to play a challenging, not technically beautiful character and loves a good commentary on mental health...I totally see the film going down this route. 

I think Harley is going to kill the Joker in the end, too. Or vice versa. Only one of them are going to live.
