1989 was fairly local outside of SiO and Blank Space, due to poor Single choices. However it had a huge Tour and it laid the ground work for Pop Taylor.

GGGB had huge Singles and cemented Rihanna has the next Generations Pop Girl, she was able to further profit of the new Image by exploring darker or poppier sides later in her career.

Teenage Dream had amazing Singles, great Peaks worldwide, a very distinct Look that is THE Katy Perry look. It was so big, it ended up being her downfall.

The Fame was truly a wild. It took a while for it to start going on, but it had the Singles, the Iconography, the Videos, it was a debut Album like someone would wish it would happen. You could almost say that The Fame Monster came to early, as Paparazzi was *just* growing in the US once BR dropped. I think we were actually robbed of even more Singles + peaks - however imagine if we never got TFM. The Fame Promotion also established Gaga as a Performer, which the other Pop Artists around that time didn‘t put focus on anymore.

So here is my ranking:

4. 1989 - too local

3. GGGB - great Singles, but fails to remain memorable / is not considered THE Rihanna Era

2. Teenage Dream - probably Katys biggest Era, iconic Videography, but no iconic Performances or Moments that really shape the Era.

1. The Fame - all reasons listed in my little description + the face that MANY new artists to this day mention Gagas VMA Performance of Paparazzi or other looks of hers as Inspiration.

If we're counting just The Fame album, then it's TD

If we're counting TF+TFM then it's TFM era

this. From just before Bad Romance (09 VMAs) to the end of Telephone was definitely the biggest if that counts

The Fame I think but Teenage Dream was massive too just that a lot of radio play with the singles. Gaga was more about the impact.

I think Rihanna had a bigger peak with We Found Love or maybe Loud/Diamonds but idk.

If you want to go by facts, here are the global album sales for these albums:

The Fame: 26 million (37 million when combined with TFM)

1989: 24 million

Teenage Dream (Complete Confection): 23 million

Good Girl Gone Bad: 22 million

No Adele? Didn’t 30 sell over 3mil its first week, and wasn’t 21 the biggest selling album from a female in 2010’s?

And to think that the label did not want to count TFM as a separate album.

I wouldn't say Adele is a MPG. It's undeniable she has hits and sales, but I don't think there's much cultural impact behind her. Maybe she does. It's hard to explain. She doesn't partake in pop culture the same way these other artists do imo. I feel like Beyonce should have been included though.

Rihanna was huge from Only girl all the way until We found love but everyone forgets that :selena: even from Russian Roulette some could say.

she has the most insane consistency
