It sounds like it was an entirely different writing process than other albums. It does seem like the way everyone working on the album so closely had to do with it.

I agree on this with every album bar ARTPOP.  All of those final songs sound far too overworked and sterile.  Songs like Gypsy, sure the demo has some clunky lyrics but her voice actually has a whole lot more emotion than what we hear on the final.  Then there’s songs like Aura, MANiCURE and Sexxx Dreams where the original idea sounds better than the final direction.

ARTPOP: I think that the mixing does make it sound flat

MANiCURE: The only thing I'd honestly change is that the whistle synth on the chorus should be more forward in the mix, but I actually like the restructuring + rewriting of the song.

Sexxx Dreams: I like the new bridge, but I do think, similar to ARTPOP, it could use more atmosphere in how it's mixed.

Yeah, that “Halloween” like whistle in MANiCURE is so good and should be brought into the final mix more.  I do like the final vocal take but I wish they kept the “heal me” in all of the choruses though, it slams so much more than the can you feel it they went with.

I do prefer the demo Sex Dreams bridge.  I like the final version but the demo is just so dark and sultry in production and the bridge works, it just sounds better to me.

I’d love to hear the album given a proper remaster or a “Gaga’s version” one day where everything can be fleshed out a bit more.
