I wonder what countries that lives on oil will do? Like literally Qatar exist because of it and oil millionaires don't care to kill or stop scientific advances in order to stop clean energy to happen.

Imagine commercial planes with clean energy? I need cheap international shipping before I die, pls.

Not alone, but it would put us in a much better place. Infinite cheap power would mean that we could eliminate a lot of other emissions-heavy sources. With improvements in batteries we might even be able to completely replace gasoline-heavy transportation.

Most likely it'll reshape our world, much like the industrial revolution. It's impossible to know in advance.

This is the real deal, they've successfully gotten more energy out of a fusion reaction than they put in. They've proved that it can be achieved, and that its completely feasible in the next decade. All the steps before now have been them achieving a reaction, but not more than they put in. Plus there's a lot of different teams working on this, so they all have different releases. This ones in the US, I think the last one to have a major update was in France.

If I'm not mistaken tritium (one of the reactants of fusion) production is still a great challenge right ? While deuterium can be extracted from sea water, there is no natural viable source of tritium on earth.
