People are calling this the holy grail of clean energy and a scientific revolution! It’s like nuclear (fission: the one we all know) energy but without the mass nuclear waste + it’s clean energy. While commercial plants that power our cities are still years way away (some say 1-2 decades), proving this is actually possible is huge. This harness this could cancel extreme climate change and counter extreme droughts and water wars. If used properly, it could be an energy revolution on the scale of the industrial revolution. Nuclear fusion is the hotter cousin of nuclear fission: the one we all know and fear that creates nuclear waste in plants and has the potential to ruin humanity. Fusion reactions can't be used for nukes alone, you would still need a regular nuke so it's completely safe. Plus the reaction has to be sustained, it won't continue on its own without humans precisely controlling it. Very different than Nuclear power.
