Is top 40 on hot 100 possible?

Top 50 is more realistic... I think there are some releases coming in the next weeks so it'll be a litlle bit difficult... I see it peaking in the low 40s, something similar to HMH 🤔

In fairness, BTW burned out quickly because of the massive first weeks it had, only two more singles were released after the album (one of which was carried by radio and the other never got anywhere). The tour didn't hit the US until January 2013 (almost two years after the album was released), and she didn't get to do half of the shows she had scheduled. When Billboard started to count streaming for albums too, Gaga was doing jazz and tributes.

For context, Teenage Dream has sold like 300k more copies than BTW in the US, but it has like 3x the amount of weeks on chart because it's been selling small amounts for a long time (Katy was still releasing singles for the album two years after its release), she was also at the highest of her career not long after the album's promo cycle was done, and she performed two songs from the album on the SB (one of which went viral due to the shark). Besides, Teenage Dream contains more than half of Katy's hits catalogue, while BTW realisticly speaking, only holds one (maybe two) of Gaga's biggest hits.

I'm not throwing shade at Katy at all, I'm just using this as an example pointing out factors that are esential for the album's longevity.

I'm only good at being bad

I think it's possible but some type of promo would need to happen within the next couple of weeks, because it seems to have started losing momentum.

Wouldn't have to be something major, even an EP (Album version + Sped up + Instrumental) would help.

That’s good context in terms of what was happening around BTW’s release. Fame had more hits for Gaga which would explain why that album has had so much longevity.  The Fame is like Gaga’s Teenage Dream, and I would often see both of these albums side by side in the lower register of the BB200.

I agree, it had a lot of its own momentum which Gaga helped by engaging with it, but it needs a new push to keep it going.
