Thoughts on album deep cuts going viral?

I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on album deep cuts becoming well known songs. Bloody Mary got me thinking.
This is something that I feel like used to bother me but not so much anymore. I guess it depends on the song. Like, I used to get frustrated with certain songs going viral and thinking “this isn’t my little secret anymore”

Are you a gatekeeper? Or the more people that know a song you love, the merrier?

The more the merrier. If I think something can bring someone happiness or joy the way it did me I'd want them to experience it too. I love being recommended deep cuts by people, that's where you usually discover who an artist is, not just the made to be a hit fodder.

I’ve always wished Gaga’s songs would go mainstream, like all of them. I wish people knew how much more her range really holds, and they truly won’t know unless they know the deep cuts. So I’m very in favor of it

If it inspires Gaga to make more songs then I’m here for her discography blowing up :vegas: And let’s be honest, no matter how many “b-sides” get big you’ll always be able to tell a fan from a little monster.

if it means Bloody Mary can take the place of Telephone or something as a setlist staple then by all means

this is also true. i feel like if Gaga wanted to, she could make perfectly designed tiktok songs.  she won’t - but she could

I think it’s kind of cool.  It’s nice thinking people who may have never explored her discography get to hear that Gaga also makes great music that isn’t singles.

Part of me wants to hold these secret little gems to myself because i love being the one to introduce them to people, and I dislike being told that I'm listening to a "Tik Tok Song" or a "Radio song."

But I'm swallowing my pride and am happy to see that Gaga is just plain unhateable. No matter what, people love her and her music and I'm glad to see this is still true, even in the Tik Tok generation. I'm happy that she is becoming a cross generation music artist that will live on.

Super exciting. I don’t believe in gatekeeping at all and everyone who complains ab it are very cringe lol

I am a gatekeeper depending on what it is. I'm not going to go up to someone and yell at them for listening to a song. As long as people recognize it as a good song with a lot to offer and don't chip off it's quality then I'm fine with it.

I like that a song with substance went viral. It shows off more of her writing skills and adds depth to her, if you go looking into the lyrics and meaning. Bloody Mary is easily among her best work and deserves it's new found recognition.

She is not unhateable, I don't think any artist from the past or to ever exist will be. She is very much more respected and I think viewed as a modern legend (whatever that means). But she's still very much the weird hermaphrodite to alot of bigoty ppl and it's ok

I'd say the more the merrier but with context. Not a fan of songs being known as "that song that people are making a funny dance to". If I don't know the song, I will more likely be annoyed by it than enjoying it.
