Stiff-person syndrome (SPS) is a rare neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease. SPS is characterized by fluctuating muscle rigidity in the trunk and limbs and a heightened sensitivity to stimuli such as noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms. Abnormal postures, often hunched over and stiffened, are characteristic of the disorder.

Omg no, a legend.  I hope she manages to get a treatment and this is not the end of her incredible career. I'm not sure if that's a known syndrome so I hope that at least this case allows a research to advance on how to get treated, a cure or something.

This heartbreaking to hear. She is such an icon. Hopefully with her means she is able to live in comfort and not suffer what is sure to be a very difficult future.
