What... You're going to tie this mess with Gaga's fur controversy? Is that really promoting violence directly? That's a stretch as saying all those who eat meat, buy cars with leather seats, or use down pillows promote violence.

That's fair if you feel that way, but I read the letter as Gaga trying to seem like she pushed kindness in every aspect of her life. All I'm saying is calling a fan base names is no worse than something Gaga does i.e. promotes the fur industry. In my opinion I see no difference. Sorry if you see it differently

I did read the letter. And just because she says she's not trying to speak badly about her character doesn't make it so. That's not how rhetoric works. That's sort of like when people say, "I'm not racist but..." and then say something racist. Or when they say, "no offense..." and then say something meant to offend.

In fact, again, that's what makes the letter come off especially poorly. Because what Gaga probably *wanted* to do (simply defend her own character and note that she can't control her fans) is perfectly understandable. But while she tries to couch it that way, it comes across as a returned insult.

She obviously was trying to insult the show and say Kelly is hypocritical, as she spends her life insulting others and can't handle some Twitter criticism. Obviously she won't phrase it that way though, she's Lady Gaga.

She thinks this is fat and ugly:

But this apparently is acceptable:

The girl has problems and Gaga was right to call her out for it.

Wow... Xtina looked hot! She does behave like a b---h on that show!

It's funny that such a nobody thinks she has the right to insult stars that are bigger than she ever will be.

You could be the biggest star in the world or a complete loser on my street corner, but that doesn't give you the right to tear down others for no reason.

Yes but she's another hater on the world, she's not like Madonna that makes a lot of people hate Gaga, she's nothing.

Its just Gaga acting holier than everyone as usual. Using a show, Kellys ****ing job, to make her feel bad about herself. The 'chosen a less compassionate path' part really pissed me off. Kelly is a sweet person. Gaga chose a path to empower people to be little assholes, gave them some courage to go out and be 'born this way'. People use that mantra to excuse their ****ty behavior all the time. And yes, Kelly said Gaga was disrespectful to fans by not showing up on the red carpet, I and many other fans agreed. Why be in 'show business' if you cant be bothered walking a red carpet and seeing a few fans.

If Kelly's ****ing job is to make other people feel bad about themselves, then how is that good? Gaga is not excusing her fans, nor accepting the threats towards Kelly, but that has nothing to do with Gaga's message of acceptance. You're taking this way too far, because it's not even about ''Not walking the red carpet...'' This is about actually mocking on someone's appearance on national television.

But she said right in the letter that she was not trying to speak badly about her character, just her actions. Did you even read the letter???

I found it passive-agressive and superior and preachy, like Gaga is some saint doing only good for mankind. She did it in a classy way but the letter turns me off the more I think about it.

It does not come off as an insult at all. Maybe your brain is just wired to read it that way. Gaga's intentions were good and nothing she said was either untrue or hurtful in any way.

Although the most important part of this letter is the fact that gaga is FINALLY sayin' to some of her die-hards to actually tone it down some notches and stop tweeting people to drop dead, i mean what the actual F with those people
