The daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un who was recently seen in public for the first time at a missile launch site is his second child aged about 10, South Korea’s spy agency told lawmakers Tuesday, as speculation swirled about his motives for bringing her to the attention of the outside world.

On Saturday, North Korea said that Kim observed the launch of the country’s most powerful intercontinental ballistic missile -- Hwasong-17 -- the previous day with his wife Ri Sol Ju and their “beloved daughter.” State media released photos showing Kim walking hand-in-hand with a young girl clad in a white coat and red shoes past a massive missile placed on a launch truck, and watching a soaring weapon from a distance.

In a closed-door briefing at a parliament committee, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, the country’s main spy agency, told lawmakers that it assesses the daughter is Kim’s second child named Ju Ae and aged around 10, Yoo Sang-bum, one of the lawmakers who attended the meeting, said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s daughter made a public appearance again, this time with missile scientists and more honorific titles as her father’s “most beloved” or “precious” child.

She’s only about 10, but her new, bold photos are deepening the debate over whether she’s being primed as a successor.

The daughter, believed to be Kim’s second child named Ju Ae and about 9 or 10 years old, was first unveiled to the outside world last weekend in state media photos showing her observing the North’s intercontinental ballistic missile launch the previous day with her parents and other older officials. The daughter wearing a white puffy coat and red shoes was shown walking hand-in-hand with Kim past a huge missile loaded on a launch truck and watching a soaring weapon.

On Sunday, the North’s official Korean Central News Agency mentioned her for the second time, saying she and Kim took group photos with scientists, officials and others involved in what it called the test-launch of its Hwasong-17 ICBM.

She’s believed to have two siblings, including an older brother, and is based with her family in their massive seaside villa in Wonsan in the province of Kangwon. The estate, which has been compared to Mar-a-Lago, has swimming pools, tennis courts, soccer fields, waterslides and a sports stadium and is located on east North Korea’s beautiful Sea of Japan’s beaches.

When they tire of Wonsan, the family has about 15 other mansions and palaces scattered across the country that they travel to via an elaborate underground system of tunnels and railways designed to avoid the prying eyes of overhead foreign intelligence satellites, North Korea experts said.

Photos from the spectacle show Kim watching the launch from a distance alongside his daughter, who wore a white jacket and red shoes and had her hair pulled back.

“When you look at that picture of of him holding her hand you can see a degree of intimacy and you can see it’s something she’s used to,” Madden said. “This is not just a photo op.”

At the same time, it is a photo op, Madden explained.

“North Korea likes to kill five birds with one stone with their messaging,” he said. “I think the affection is real but they clearly are trying to humanize Kim Jong Un and trying to make him appear as normal as possible. His father cultivated an aura of mystery. He used to say, ‘When the enemy looks at us they should look into a fog.’ But now they seem to want less mystery and make Kim look like a normal family man. He represents a departure from his father.”

North Korea also wants to send a message to the world that the Kim family is firmly entrenched as the country’s rulers — like a monarchy.

Economy

She's adorable

Shame her father is obviously brainwashing her. Who on their right mind takes a 10 year old to a missile launching site???? :duck:

Also regarding the families realestate... all those mansions while their people starve. Disgusting
