Billboard genre chart categorization is determined by Billboard’s charts department, using genre classifications provided by content creators as guidelines, along with consideration of how projects are promoted and marketed — at streaming services, radio and beyond. 

Renaissance was initially categorized, after discussions with Columbia, for Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top R&B Albums charts.

Beyoncé albums lack longevity. She has zero old albums charting on BB200 right now. The Fame will reclaim its spot soon enough.

Because "R&B" doesn't really exist. It's a genre made up by white people to segregate black music from white music.

R&B is a genre if you didn’t know. Going by your logic the dance chart shouldn’t exist either.

The Dance chart on billboard was specifically curated to reflect music that is most played in dance clubs, compiled from reports from a national sample of club DJs. R&B is literally just pop music. 

Any R&B song could be pop, but not any pop/R&B song could be "Dance"

Ugh, I was hoping people would be a little more open to this... but here we go:

The term R&B was coined to replace the term "Race Music."

I fully understand the history of R&B. This requires a little more critical thought and societal reflection than a google search into R&B history. 

Many artists are starting to speak out about this issue. Like how Chance the Rapper is automatically labeled hip-hop/rap despite just making pop music. 

If you google "R&B artists" you're only going to find People of color. Songs that COULD be classified as R&B but are made by white people (Adele, Sam Smith, etc.) are automatically routed to the pop charts, while black artists are boxed into the R&B / Rap categories. 

It is a systemic issue within the music industry as a whole.

Rhythm and Blues though? So many black artists that are pop stars are pushed here by white people and that’s what I think the post you quoted may have been referencing.
