Totally agree to this - Charities are a failure of state, they shouldn’t exist in general… and especially not be relied upon to provide vital services, food and shelter.

I will (somewhat) applaud Bezo’s if donates most of his fortune.  Although he gained such a vast fortune by avoiding taxes and treating his workers like disposable trash.

Oh no, we actually do need to defund the police. The budget is wasteful and wayyy out of control. However donating to a movement for defunding wouldn't do anything. Best a billionaire can do is give money directly to citizens, fund libraries, help with shared infrastructure etc, things the government should be doing but we have a corrupted sysrtem

He is doing the absolute bare minimum in my opinion. Like I wouldn’t be able to live in good conscience as a billionaire, I can’t understand not dissolving your wealth. Of course I think its an amazing thing if he does go ahead with it but like… its not as virtuous as he wants it to be in my eyes.
