Versace 8,080
This isn’t de-aging per say. It’s just they found a way to restore lost collagen. To an extent retinol/retin-a does that already but to a limit. If they can have someone in their 60’s with skin like that of 20’s then yea that would be miraculous. It would be something like this: - It first gets rolled out as a premium treatment only affordable by the ultra-wealthy 1%. Over time it trickles down and becomes publicly available, but is so expensive only the very-very rich can afford it. Celebrities and very rich people stop ageing while everybody middle-class and lower continues ageing. Ageing is now seen as a 'poor person thing' and looked down on. Soon all the previous generations of elderly people have died, leaving the rest of us to take one of two paths: age naturally and be seen is 'disgusting' and less-than, or stay 25 forever and belong to the elite class of humans who view themselves as superior beings - Then eventually it becomes available to everyone, but the higher-society don't like this and find ways to kill off the lower class. Overpopulation becomes a huge problem so governments have to create other ways to cull the numbers, or just straight up put in place a 'maximum age' or 'termination age' or something But then after a generation or 2 the anti-aging treatments alter their reproductive cell DNA to the point of unrecognition and the 1% start birthing Lovecraftian horrors. But history will repeat itself and it will be more readily available and affordable to mass people in the end. Now scientists say they have found a way to reverse the ageing process in human skin. Researchers in Cambridge reveal they've reprogrammed skin cells from people aged 38 and 53 to make them 'younger' by 30 years. The method rewinds the ageing clock further than previous reprogramming methods without damaging the cells. (Red is collagen or something and as we age the collagen fades but these scientists were able to refill the red essentially making cells remember how to produce more of it like it used to when they were young.) 'Our results represent a big step forward in our understanding of cell reprogramming,' said Dr Diljeet Gill at the Babraham Institute. 'We have proved that cells can be rejuvenated without losing their function and that rejuvenation looks to restore some function to old cells. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-10696535/Scientists-reverse-ageing-human-cells-30-years.html 'The fact that we also saw a reverse of ageing indicators in genes associated with diseases is particularly promising for the future of this work.' pls Madonna invest in this before you finish destroying your face english is not my native language >.<

Economy 52,906
This is cool. Tho from my understanding it's far from a complete treatment even for the skin Making a few cells younger won't rejuvenate ur entire skin will it? Ud have to be able to do it to a large enough number for the multiplication that followed after to have any effect which I guess at this time there's no practical way to do it? 9 hours ago, dit said: It is important to note that this was specifically for skin. So they were able to reverse cells to function as if they were 30 years younger which would make them able to produce collagen like when skin is young which is AMAZING BUT similar studies to this have also been able to de-age eyes! There was a study done and it was a success in reversing some type of aging related diseases on the eyes but they were only done on rats whereas this skin study is on humans which is AMAZING. I pray this stuff is fine tuned and released to the masses by the time we hit our 60s+ lol. Otherwise we would miss out on some of the most amazing advancements in human history. People born in the year 2100 are going to low key be LUCKY AF with how far things will get (if the planet survives by then of course lol)
