While this is amazing, what about stopping aging in the entire human body? Also it’s gonna cost an arm and a leg to have done, so only a small fraction of humanity will be able to afford it. They should put it in benefits in jobs!

yeah I found that argument weird when they brought it up but they are using that line as their inspiration. It's more like their motto rather than a belief I think. I think what they mean is simply like "lets not accept that aging has to be this terrible, painful and sad process...let's view it as something that we can push back, slow down or even reverse in some ways". It does not mean aging will not still occur. Like they have not been working on the brain functions yet (that one is probably too complicated) so death will be inevitable. They are clear that they view death is inevitable. But they make it clear that they refuse to believe ALL the symptoms of aging just have to be accepted. We as humans have the science to study ways to stop the aging process at least to some degree in some organs so why not push to study it more. I think this is what they mean generally.

Yes totally! they have been working on eyes with great success but those tests were only on rats. They were able to literally reverse blindness on rats and remove age related eye diseases by reversing the eye's cells using this technique or a technique very similar. That said, I think the skin is the one they are finding the most success in. I bet it is because it is getting the most funding since if they do eventually refine this a lot more they could make HUGE amounts of money. Think of all the millions of ppl who would want to look 30 years younger lol. I bet that is why the skin one is the one they are finding most success, getting most funding for these studies and even able to test it on humans already!

for sure! but think of it this way. Almost everything we have now was exclusive to the rich for a long period (computers, phones, certain medicines...which are still too costly sadly etc..). Eventually, this too will become accessible to the masses but it will probably be in a time when all of us here will be long gone lol. I envy the ppl who will be born in 2100 when i read stuff like this tbh

On one hand I'm incredibly curious about that and of course want it for myself. On the other I believe that if we stop aging it will inevitably lead to a dystopian nightmare in which already established wealth and power structures are cemented even further and autocracies grow stronger. Also I don't want to have eternally young rich people and aging poor people.

If I'm going to make a more realistic prediction that we may see in our lifetimes regarding this technology.. It would be something like this:

- It first gets rolled out as a premium treatment only affordable by the ultra-wealthy 1%. Over time it trickles down and becomes publicly available, but is so expensive only the very-very rich can afford it. Celebrities and very rich people stop ageing while everybody middle-class and lower continues ageing. Ageing is now seen as a 'poor person thing' and looked down on. Soon all the previous generations of elderly people have died, leaving the rest of us to take one of two paths: age naturally and be seen is 'disgusting' and less-than, or stay 25 forever and belong to the elite class of humans who view themselves as superior beings

- Then eventually it becomes available to everyone, but the higher-society don't like this and find ways to kill off the lower class. Overpopulation becomes a huge problem so governments have to create other ways to cull the numbers, or just straight up put in place a 'maximum age' or 'termination age' or something

I think if they could make aging less painful and more pretty it would be a serve. I don't know whether I would like to live forever but I definitely do fear my later years if my health deteriorates.
