But, I live in Myrtle beach SC literally less than a mile from the ocean and the hurricane could physically knock on my front door and I still wouldn’t leave. Yes, there are areas where I live where it is essential that you evacuate because it’s either by the rivers (excess water drains into them) or the marsh areas (which are already at, or below sea level). But where I live, it’s never a bigger deal than no power and really bad rain. The store and media will make every storm seem like you need to be prepared for an apocalypse.
