ok but if we look at her Grammy nominations history, she's been snubbed multiple times for some of her biggest songs.  Her only SOTY + ROTY nominations are for Poker Face, Shallow, ARUTW and I Get a Kick Out of You .

Bad Romance, Born This Way and Rain On Me weren't nominated in any of the major categories for SOTY or ROTY and they were literally some of the biggest hits released in their respective years. So why on earth would we think 'Hold My Hand' stood a chance to be nominated apart from the 'song for visual media' category when it's barely had much impact?

But looking at her nomination history, IMO the clearer counterargument is:

1. A song doesn’t need to be a hit to be nominated for SOTY. especially a Gaga song. Examples: ARUTW, I Get A Kick Out of You

2. Her nominations usually exceed our expectations

3. Grammys seem to reward her adult music more often than her pop / dance music (this explains BTW, ROM and BR not getting a major nom. This also explains Joanne and L4S doing better than expected). HMH falls within this “adult” genre.

i love HMH but how in the hell do they predict gaga getting a nomination for it when ASIB OST couldn't even secure a nomination for album of the year?? it's giving clickbait.

In ASIB's year there was a panel that oversaw nominations and probably kept it out while giving ARUTW a consolation nom in SOTY.

These panels don't exist anymore, which largely favours the most popular artists or grammy darlings. Besides it's 10 nominees in the general categories now. So giving Gaga's status and popularity with the Recording Academy in recent years it's not impossible to see her getting into the top 10 of a general field category.

that's actually very true! I just find it super annoying and weird how Gaga alone is appreciated  more for her "adult" friendly projects rather her more edgy/contemporary/pop work unlike her peers and some of the new gen (adele, beyoncé, taylor, billie, dua) who don't seem to have a problem being nominated for their own original pop music. It very much feels like there is still a stigma against Pop-Ga which is sad. I still don't understand how "Rain On Me" didn't bag a SOTY/ROTY nom since it was one of the biggest singles during the pandemic. Chromatica era should have been nominated at the very least in 5 categories (SOTY, ROTY, Pop Vocal Album, Pop Duo, Music Video) and also AOTY imo but was only relegated to 2 categories.

ah yes! now this makes complete sense. I forgot how the panel worked the categories in their favour.

you can serve it to me ancient city style...

I Get A Kick Out Of You didn't get nominated for Song of the Year because it's a cover and that goes to the songwriter (Cole Porter) but the point still stands with Record of the Year. It was nowhere near a hit but still considered for that category.

She rarely walks empty handed. What is this hate for the Grammys lol. She doesn't get snubbed.

Not one of those songs excite me. I'm curious; why do you guys care so much about Grammy's? it seems like such a pointless , worthless award. Why do you care what payola record companies deem worth of shitty ornaments?

You could also ask the same about I Get A Kick Out of You. It made little to no impact, and it got nominated. It really just depends on how competitive that year is and the voting mood of the voters.

BR and BTW were understandable because they only nominated for 5 songs in those years, now I think we have 8 or 10. This means we might have room for Hold My Hand.

I think Rain On Me didn't get nominated because she didn't do any promo for it, and promo is expected for a pop album and pop singles. The case is a little different for Hold My Hand because it's for a movie.

Gaga definitely cares, so why shouldn't we?

I guess that is your opinion about every award, which I don't want to argue with. But it is fact, that Grammys are the most recognized music award in the world despite their problems.

It has a chance of getting nominated again but please god don’t y’all delude yourselves into thinking it’s gonna win something major like you did last year.

I'd give it to Lin Manuel Miranda for We Don't Talk About Bruno. It's a quite rare feat for an ensemble musical feat got this huge attention.

Although realistically it's gonna be between Easy on Me / All Too Well
