Taylor Swift's re-recording thing is a separate issue related to the person who actually bought her masters and not wanting him to make money from them. She could always negotiate with interscope to try to buy them, but there’s little incentive for the label to sell, unless they charged an exorbitant amount of money. But if he contract is up and they wanted to stay on the label, it could be something they offer her or that’s negotiated.
