In his US case, Amber was found guilty of DEFAMATION. Amber was found guilty for DEFAMATION as you said which includes her painting Johnny as an abuser Which means she's guilty of claiming him to be an abuser but he's apparently not since it's defamation or else it would've not been labeled as such had it been the case. She was found guilty for defamation for lying about her “abuse”. She wouldn’t have lost if the jury thought she was telling the truth in her statements. That was quite literally one of the points the jury was given - if her statements about him were “false” then she loses. That is why she was given such hefty punitive damages (before they were capped) by them - because they believed she was lying. And Amber didn’t win anything in the UK - The Sun newspaper did. The Sun had better lawyers and only had to convince one person, not nine - they are a notoriously scandalous rag that publishes all sorts of crazy things about people, of course they have an ironclad legal team - hence why they’re still going strong to this day. It's just becoming more balanced I think with different opinions because the case is v complex and everyone will have at least a slight bias imo, or be influenced in some ways (or changing opinions with new information because there's so much) I think best thing to do is research both sides and try to be open as possible to information from both, and then make your own opinion Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
