You say that like the franchise isn't run by and usually starring RuPaul, a narcissistic transphobe and fracker in her own right :rip:

A drag queen being narcissistic? Escandalo:lolga:

RuPaul he has used his cultural influence to give a platform to more queer people of color and trans folks than anyone else in television history. After his clumsy comments about trans folks he apologized and upped the trans representation on his show. That is exactly what we want people to do when they mess up.

As for the fracking, in the spoiler below is an explanation from The Guardian debunking the RuPaul fracking story. You should read it.

Spoiler

As Wyomingites are aware, RuPaul and his husband probably have no say over whether fracking occurs on their property. The rights to minerals under a given piece of land, including fossil fuels, are owned separately from the surface rights.

“Unless you own 100% of the fossil fuel rights under your land – and the vast majority of ranches don’t – you can’t prohibit oil and gas development. You don’t have a choice,” said RuPaul’s neighbor, Jay Butler, a fourth-generation rancher and owner of the 18,000-acre Robinson Ranch. Roads and pipelines dotted with oil wells line Butler’s own ranch. “If you drive north out of Douglas, all the ranches are involved with the oil industry.”

While it might be difficult for many landowners to refuse oil and gas development on their properties outright, “negotiating with companies as opposed to just saying no often means being able to get wells and infrastructure located away from sensitive wildlife areas or other areas the landowner cares about”, said Shannon Anderson, staff attorney for the Powder River Basin Resource Council, which advocates for responsible energy development through community organizing.

LeBar, RuPaul’s husband, was born and raised in Australia and inherited the LeBar Ranch from his grandfather, who ran a successful sheep and cattle operation along with his wife for decades on the ranch. Georges LeBar doesn’t own or run cattle himself, instead leasing the grazing rights on his land to other ranchers.

“RuPaul and LeBar could not say no to oil and gas development,” Butler said. “I cannot say no on any of the ranch that I’m owner of. There’s a healthy tension between ranchers and the oil industry, and you just have to negotiate in good faith.”

I know it's trendy to hate RuPaul, but I think we are at the point where people should start examining their real motivations behind attacking a queer black man who spent decades combating gender norms, racism, and homophobia.

Not to mention that people are taking his comments about trans people on drag race way out of context instead of trying to understand what he was talking about.

I wish people would stop hating on RuPaul at this point for mistakes he’s made before it’s getting old. I think the problem was that people set their expectations way too high of him. No one’s perfect

I absolutely love Ru

Im shocked that there’s no tea about what’s happening to Ru. Normally we know everything that’s going on behind the scenes.

The most likely answers are; he either got COVID, which seems unlikely if he’s back next episode since he would’ve had to isolate for at least 1 week and they filmed this season in the usual allotted timeframe.

or, he was filming Lingo a show he’s hosting in the UK and he just couldn’t make it for this one day. I bet he still is in the episode during the walk around and beginning just not the runway.

“It’s getting old” = people hating on him is getting old. They weren’t referring to rupaul as “it”.

I've felt the way that I have for years and I don't think RuPaul is excempt from the criticism just because he's part of minority groups. I also don't believe that invoking positive change makes one's bad actions worth ignoring. Excusing him for either of those reasons is a copout.

The fans on Reddit still drag Raven every time she’s mentioned because they think she’s too tan. Forgiving anyone is out of the picture for a lot of the fanbase that just wants to stay mad at…everything
