Try the post office, they’re always hiring  she said :deadbanana:

Chaka Khan thinks singers who rely on Auto-Tune need to try a different J-O-B, and she's even got a suggestion for 'em ... delivering packages to her doorstep!!!

The R&B icon laid an opinionated smackdown on a portion of this generation's studio-boosted singers when she said, "There’s some very fine young artists out there doing great, great work that I am impressed with. But, the others, they just need to get them a job at the Post Office - they are always hiring!"

Chaka didn't name any names when she spoke to Page Six, but feels saddened by many of today's female R&B artists ... saying they lack confidence and ooze insecurity.

The OG "I'm Every Woman" singer's issues with modern music go beyond Auto-Tune -- for years, she's ripped Kanye West for altering her voice in a high pitch to create the foundation for his breakout 2003 single "Through The Wire."

I'm gonna say this in the most respectful way possible because she is a legend and deserves all the respect in the world.

It's fine if you don't agree with how certain practices in the modern music world are carried out, but this wave of legacy artists who keep shitting on other, newer artists for a variety of reasons is getting tiring. Just because you don't agree with it does not mean it must be said. It's just as effective to just do your thing and be above it. It to me just kinda comes off as the old guard being unwilling to accept the new guard and it's sad to see.

She's a legend, she is the moment, I just wish she wasn't joining a chorus of established older artists who're screaming the "music was better in my day" chants we've all grown so tired of our parents and older screaming out for years.

If it’s used to make something like Heavy Metal Lover or Cher’s Believe, then pls use it, it’s a great music weapon if used right.

I have two thoughts about this - the best singer/artist in the world could use auto tune as a tool and instrument to create a piece of music that has a particular sound.

My second thought is that the majority of people who are are going to be like “Tea!! Yasss sooo true” will cry about how the music industry sign and promote the best looking artists, combine them with the best pop writers and producers and choreographers and music video directors but they aren’t streaming and using their purchasing power to support the kinda artists that they claim they want. They are streaming the girls they complain about

I 💯% COMPLETELY Agree with Her!  :iamfair:

Same. As others said autotune can be great to experiment but I'm pretty sure she's talking about the ones using it for its original purpose of pitch correction.

I believe she's addressing it to "singers" who abuses the auto tune to the point where you don't hear their true voice anymore but just the auto tune effect.

What's up with older artists sh*tting on newer artists lately?

What a boring and regressive opinion. Where are exactly all those "autotune singers" because none come to mind for me. The ones I can think of use it in an intentional artistic way. They're not trying to be the greatest vocalists.
