Environment Canada removed Diwali from its air quality statement for the city of Mississauga and Brampton (Toronto Suburbs) after criticism for singling out the holiday

However a spokes person claimed the amount of fireworks done during Diwali has been far greater the last few years in the two cities which have a high number of backgrounds that partake in celebration, than other holidays such as Canada Day or Victoria Day

Heavy smog was seen in the early mornings, and the statement was an advisory for those with heart or pulmonary desieses

Have you been to Westwood Mall recently? It literally looked like some post apocalyptic hellscape of fireworks trash everywhere plus there was so much smog.

I don’t know if Diwali celebrations necessitate fireworks on a theological basis but I think they should be banned in general. The fireworks frighten the animals besides the damage on the environment and I don’t think they’re worth it. I like how they look too but the cost is a little too much.

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

If not worse :rip:

And New Year's too since it's on a global scale.

Let's just get rid of them all though :gayhat: fireworks are annoying anyway

Actually ridiculous. I live in an area where it’s heavily celebrated and the air is visibly foggier. Plus the smell? Plus all the litter left after?? Maybe there’s a better way to single out the increased smog, but it’s there. It exists lmao

"Baby, you're a firework"

"You mean I'm loud? Annoying? I pollute? I mess with birds? I terrify dogs? And veterans? Idiots blow off their hands from being stupid around me?"

No, it's a mall at the edge of Brampton and Malton in Ontario, Canada.

I woke up early the next morning for work of course... And it was soooooo foggy

But it was hard to tell how much of it was the left over smog and how much was just regular fog

Probably both tho. I'm pretty sure pollution particles can increase fog because they stick to water molecules and they bind so an increase of one can increase the other
