Legal drugs - addiction and abuse is an issue

It's kind of common sense remove the criminal element and you remove a lot of the danger and addicts can actually get help rather than find themselves in a cell somewhere.

It just causes the above. People should just say no to drugs. We all have a choice in our lives. A legal deterrent will solve the drugs issues instead of throwing drugs at people and wasting tax payers money on allowing people to stuff themselves with drugs.

You literally just advocated for what a pro-legal drug society would look like. They should always be a legal deterrent for people that take drugs.

Saying the war on drugs wasn't enough is a pretty big statement. Research has found again and again that incarceration doesn't even help unless you're trying to age somebody out of recidivism. Instead they're introduced to more drugs and crime within prisons. Then they're handicapped because they're convicted felons and end up on the street when they get out, doing drugs again. It's only a further hinderance to the individual's health and well-being. While also being costly to taxpayers, without any benefit to society other than being out of everyone's sight for a limited time. And really the root of the war on drugs is racism and disenfranchisement, something even documented on official federal transcripts etc.

Well but you have to see that people will always find a way to get what they want. And if there's not a legal way, they will do it illegal. See, people start to meet drug dealers who have way more in store than just weed… legalizing would be a way to keep them from such connections. Also alcohol is a way bigger problem here imo. We have so many alcoholics, people doing dumb **** being drunk, kids starting to pour a beer aged 12 and more than 50k death cases caused by alcohol EVERY YEAR

Cannabis is not harmful in most dosages, period. Everything taken excessively can be extremely harmful but we don't go around banning every single thing we consume. No cannabis is not harmful.
