Brizel 593 Posted October 27, 2022 Share Posted October 27, 2022 Agreed .. apart from the first couple of albums i feel like if she worked with better songwriters , songwriting isn’t her strong suit , like Taylor swift. Gaga is more a chameleonic superstar it first started with Marry the Night - the song should not have been released as a single it is too noisy and camp ARTPOP was mostly terrible in particular .. (after she added those extras in after the iTunes festival versions ) also 911 is not a good song or at least the finished product wasn’t and stupid love was a bit cheesy she has amazing potential and I hope that there are more songs that sound like classics/radio friendly and like with A Star is Born she collaborates a little more with an amazing visual album please and thank you 😆 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Personally she's one of only a few artists where I can listen to and love every song on an album and she keeps doing it again and again. She has so much versatility. She never released a dud album. look at the **** that gets universal acclaim these days (that terrible rina album for example). Her discography is unique and stil very underrated, all of it maybe except for the jazz records. Swifties and Hives really did a number on you now yall don’t even like your own fave lmao. Y’all nitpick her albums saying there’s one or two weaker tracks on there so it can’t be consider amazing as if all of those acclaimed albums don’t have many fillers in them. She’s a pop girl that literally started with Just Dance. Pompous rock ballads are not better than fun dance songs, she’s not Carole King she won’t write Youve got a friend lmao. She is an exceptional performer and vocalist, I don't think anyone here would disagree with that. But I really want to see her release a groundbreaking album that really shakes up the music landscape. I really hope her next record does that. I want her to take all the time she needs on it. gaga 4foot7 44 Posted October 31, 2022 Share Posted October 31, 2022 I feel that her discography and work is downplayed by the people around her, rather than herself. like, her record label would HAVE to have a big hand in her work, whether she liked it or not. so, things like auto-tunning or instrumental changes beyond her control. so when you take an album like "Born This Way" and compare it to "Joanne", there is obviously going to be a huge gap in quality (I say quality like Gaga's weight in the creative process when creating the works). like, she obviously had a large roll in her early albums, especially BTW, you can just tell. but when you take into perspective how during the ARTPOP era, she probably had free reign when it came to the creative process, and with the fights and eventual "Failure" of ARTPOP, out of instinct, her record label would definitely put huge restrictions on her involvement in the creative process. so, when making "Joanne" she would probably only have involvement in the lyrics, vocals (of course) and the instrumentals. other than that, probably not a lot. thus, downplaying the true message and the way she wants to create her art. so, your thought on how it is "overrated", it is probably more underwhelming and far for her view. While I definitely take time off from her albums due to the amount of time I spend listening to her… I think she has the most interesting and diverse discography of many artists at her level of fame and recognition.
