About Cher...imho, her aesthetic was more in line with the acceptable format of nudity/ sexuality from the male perspective, which didn't seem threatening or out of the box for those times.

To people commenting on here like "SHE WASNT THE FIRST", I mean duhhhh.  She never said "i was the first and only".  She was one of many women at that time breaking through the challenging ordeals of patriarchy.  And yes, she WAS important in pop culture when it comes to sexual, LGBT and womens' liberation of the late 20th century.  Doesn't take away from what other women of that era did.

Im glad she's got the hindsight to see all she's done.  I think it makes her contributions to culture more potent, more intentional.  Definitely not her "pulling a Nicki", as i didn't see her shame one woman 🤷‍♂️

I mean...M went an presented her vision of female sexual fantasies which didn't align with the mainstream idea of sexuality at that time. The one thing that people here are missing is the CONTEXT of that time.
