Being fat is also not a community feeling, there are many different reasons to be fat and different classifications as to who is being labeled fat. Taylor was very skinny for the longest time in her career, gains a little weight and thats all the media reported and Trolls tore her apart for. Cut to, her being held to the standard that she has to be skinny and the scale (in this case, symbolism to something out her control) already labeling her something. I think your problem is more with Taylor herself than the ‚FAT‘. Maybe her art is just not for you to consume. Lmao plz stop yourself bc you’re jsut being condescending. I get her point. As I’ve said, it’s really not tremendously hard to get. But there are ways of combating the negativity thrown at you while also recognizing that the word, symbol, etc. holds a much larger amount of weight with a lot more context than your particular situation. That’s called a cultural consciousness. Asking an artist to be culturally conscious is not a stretch. My issue isn’t with Taylor lol y’all are a little delusional to think so. My issue is everyone in this thread immediately telling people who have faced legit scrutiny for their weight to essentially shut up bc an objectively skinny person made what was to them a bit of a misstep. No pitchforks were called. No one ragged on her. They called out what was to them something that persists to be offensive to their community which is skinny people going into fat discourse in kinda clunky ways. yes, Taylor had been remarked upon for gaining weight at some point, I’m sure, but let’s not pretend like it was some enormous thing or that she’s not still very skinny. Her truth is hers, but it could have been expressed with more forethought and y’all would rather tell someone to shut up than listen to that

That doesn’t mean it’s like tremendously deep lol and that isn’t an insult to it bc I don’t think it was her intention either.
