Charli, Rina and Carly - all released fantastic pop works this year :messga:

Don’t forget Tove Lo!

On topic, there are some absolute gems on this album. Carly has really mastered her craft and only keeps getting better with every album.

ok final thoughts..

Although this album feels toned down compared to her last 2, it's still very charming, earthy, and fun to listen to. I think Carly is a great storyteller and does a great job at having almost every song transport you to a place, time, or feeling. This new album isn't my fave of hers but it's not at all bad and I will still come back to listen to a couple of songs on here. I might like it a bit more after some sips of wine so I'll give it another listen later on :ally:

I like how the first half of the tracks actually share a bit of Dedicated vibe. While the glittery Disco element gives the record's second half a sort of autumn aesthetic. It makes the whole run not only feel like a slow change between two eras, but also two seasons.

That being said, I'm kinda getting tired of her voice, unfortunately.

the album is decent, the bonus tracks are better than most on the standard.

This is her most mature sounding album for sure. She's always had a very youthful vibe to her music despite being in her 30's (Kiss was great but sounded more like an album made by someone in their teens) but she's progressed more since and this seems like she's trying to take a more artistic and sophisticated approach. My favourites are Surrender My Heart, Joshua Tree, Beach House, Go Find Yourself Or Whatever and No Thinking Over The Weekend. This is more chilled than her usual upbeat pop style but she still has throwbacks to that. It's not my favourite from her but at least consistent.
