LDR just shared on her private Honeymoon insta that a few months ago a backpack with her laptop, camcorders, and hard drive was stolen from her car containing a book she’s been writing, private photos, and new music. None of it is salvageable, nor was it backed up. It might explain how Snow on the Beach leaked. Really sad situation, as worry and fear of leaks is evident in her tone. People are the worst.

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

from what we can tell, only the book is 100% lost.

i feel so bad for her :( 200 pages of hard work, gone in an instant. so sick

SOTB leaked bc some ppl already have the CDs and LPs though

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Perhaps this is why we've been completely in the dark about new material for months despite claims that she was immediately working on a new album just after her previous release last year. I can't imagine how I would feel if my creative outpourings got stolen especially something that was basically completed. This happened to Shakira years ago and it was why she named her album Donde Estan Los Ladrones? which translates to Where Are The Thieves? When travelling in Colombia, her luggage got stolen which contained the lyrics for the entirety of her new album and they were never recovered. She says that she had such a bad mental block afterwards that she couldn't even remember them to replicate. And this was in the 90's, before there were multiple methods to make electronic back-ups. To remake a whole album, knowing your fans and yourself will never hear its original conception must be truly heartbreaking for an artist.

Lana Del Rey has shared a series of video messages on Instagram announcing that her laptop, hard drives, and camcorders were stolen from her car, resulting in the loss of progress on her book and leaks of unfinished songs.

“Please don’t listen to the music if you hear it because it’s not coming out yet,” she told her followers. “And in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it. And in terms of the camcorders, we shall see what happens with that.”

The videos are only viewable by followers of Del Rey’s account, but part of her message has popped up on Twitter:

I remember reading about how Alanis Morissette was robbed at gunpoint just a few years earlier, carrying a backpack which contained everything she had done for Jagged Little Pill thus far, and they took her purse & wallet but, by miracle chance, neglected the backpack :wtf: She would have had to start the record over again if that hadn't been the case

Ladrones is one of my favorite albums ever, I grew up listening to it. I had NO IDEA that was the backstory wow. We'll never know what the stolen songs were like but to be honest she made a masterpiece and it was because of that. It sucks that it had to happen but worked out in the end.

I just learned this, like omg. I can't watch the video now, so, did she lose all her music material and has to record it again?
