i hope SOTB becomes a big hit for Lana, she deserves it

I am not convinced Lana cares about GP reception tbh. After Born to Die era, it just feels she is about playing by her rules without regard to formulaic moves. No shade, just feels as if it is not her prerogative.

This album is almost more overhyped than Remaissance, impressive work by T’s team.

For real tho over exposure doesnt apply to taylor swift and bad bunny. Both of them have released multiples albums in a short span of time and all of them have been a success. Its crazy, but also explainable. Both of these artists arent too involved in politics, or they dont share too often their point of view in important topics, nor they share their pov on these topics through their music, and barely make any political statements, nor do they share their personal views very often. They just release albums and songs. In other words, theyre playing it safe. I mean I say this comparing them to gaga who from the beginning of her career has been very vocal on various issues, specially gay rights. This also happens with rihanna who is just someone who releases music that happens to be bops but you dont really associate rihanna (or TS or BB or adele) as someone with a political stance or someone too involved in activism or vocal about it, which may explain the hype she has even though she hasnt released music in years. And I mean probably these artists do have a political preference or are activists but they dont make it part of their music (i mean born this way is a gay anthem) and only real stans know their views, not the general public, unlike gaga in which the gp already associate her to a certain "political aura". You see this also when these people accept awards, their speeches which are very shallow, where they talk about themselves (dont mean this in a bad way), thanking their family, ppl who worked in the records maybe and etc, gaga too but she always has something to say (on mental health, gay rights, etc). Still impressive though ! Just a thought i wanted to share, its probably all BS :haroon: but i think at least theres a bit if truth in it.

What makes gaga so iconic with her success is that its even more impressive since even with this very defined posture on world views she has this huge massive platform.

Anyways, Im honestly very hyped for midnights. I love the album cover

Credit cards, skipping lunches, stealing the neighbors dog and giving it back after the reward flyers go out :ohwell:

Fr, I’m a Swift fan, but I got bored of the “Midnights Mayhem” track reveal after three nights. And the fact that they keep adding different vinyl variants, saying they’ll only be available for pre-order for a select time, and then making them available again. And then signed vinyls and CDs coming and going on her site. All of this without even hearing a snippet of a song. I’ll be listening to the album at 12:00 am on Friday still, but it feels like the music has become secondary to the marketing and sales.

Preferred folklore, evermore, and Red TV where all of the variants were available the same day after the music was released (folklore/evermore) or there was only one variant (Red TV)
