Firstly Nicki wasn’t shading Latto to begin with and didn’t say anything Latto hasn’t said:

The DM’s got exposed too by both ladies and Nicki is being kind and normal throughout? Even asking Latto how she is doing while Latto just spams her with feature requests??

Make it make sense.

These girlies need to realise Nicki doesn’t owe them a feature or owe them anything & Nicki isn’t even speaking on them.

Nicki has been throwing shade at Latto for a long time and I can't see all those DMs asking for a feature? Yeah, she did ask about the feature before, but when Nicki tweeted the Grammy thing Latto never talked about features or anything.

Why does Nicki always come for people then decides to delete those tweets? That girl on that tiktok was so right about her throwing stones then hiding hands.

Latto did the right thing and I'm so glad she did.

What shade you talking about? Only time Nicki even threw a HINT of shade was when Latto did the interview shading Nicki, albeit unintentionally, but Nicki had every right to be a little irked about that.

She gets, understandably, frustrated when she still give props consistently to the girls before and so does everyone - yet these new girls come in, get a hit song, and act like they are on the same level. It devalues her success (as a black woman), all what she has worked for, contributed to the culture and influenced in the past 20 years when these girls get a song on billboard and compare themselves.

TO BE CLEAR - no men crack Billboard and compare their platform to that of Jay, Wayne or any of the greats and it would be seen as disrespectful if they did… Even when Kendrick was at his peak, cocky as he was on his songs, he would always say in interviews that he felt uncomfortable with interviewers comparing him to the greats because he knew how much work he needed to put in and contribute.

Nicki was sleeping in her car writing raps on receipts at the Red Lobster she worked at, hustled her way on MySpace and was selling mixtapes out the back of her car trunk while doing the Come Up DVD. She made it to where she did and influenced a whole generation of female rappers and is still releasing hits. She gets annoyed when some girl goes on a TV show, gets some buzz on instagram, signs a 360, gets the sort of industry push she never did, crack the top 10 and thinks they are Nicki Minaj.

Latto jumped the gun here which is so easy for these girls to do. Sad that she took such a small misunderstanding to the level she did.
