Those times making TF and TFM in 2008 / 2009 seemed to be just about having fun just creating good music with no real pressure from label and audience expectations. She was happy doing this. I feel like shits happened with BTW when the pressure was on her as it was the second big full project she was making. but there was label pressure, do you not remember the famous blonde vs black hair debate for TFM album cover? she also had a really bad time making Telephone mother, what must i do? I feel like shits happened with BTW when the pressure was on her as it was the second big full project she was making. She has talked several times about men in music not taking her serious as a musician and wanting to take advantage of her. I don't think she had the best time making The Fame if we compare it to working with people she considers close friends like Mark Ronson, Bloodpop, Benjamin Rice and even DJ White Shadow. As far as we know she's cool with RedOne but didn't she have a fallout with Garibay while making ARTPOP? We as fans of course love the classics but there's so much sh!t going on behind the scenes we don't know. Both Paul and Gaga wanted to quit music after making ARTPOP because of how horrible the experience was at that time.

No judgement but several producers had issues with DJWS and their experiences with working on Gaga projects (BTW, ARTPOP) : Garibay, Brian Lee, DJ Snake and his team (including Tchami). Some of them denounced the obsession of the producer for credits and his way to keep an hand of the projects (mainly how DJ Snake learnt listening ARTPOP everything he and Tchami have done was scrapped or totally changed). The ego and obsession for credit was something Gaga denounced during Chromatica promo. Funny to know Paul was working on this originally before she asked BloodPop to make it. I also wish she worked with him again. Personally (and I am not here to bash Gaga) I feel BTW was the last project where I could really resonate with her although I love chromatica and I think she was able to tap into that similar energy again with it. I cant stop thinking that weed affected her creativity and mental health big time and it really can be heard in her music and lyrics. Its said because you can see it on her face and posture around Joanne era and ARTPOP that something is a bit off. She was so bold with her imagery and it was very dark in the fame monster born this way era but I always felt she embraced it and was able to process it through art. I think at some point she got scared a little bit of her own darkness. Anyway, I really wish she would work with some of the older producers again, I dont think she constantly needs to reinvent herself or do new stuff. Maybe this is totally off topic but I thought I would share my point of view. I don't think weed is to blame. I think she became more aware of what was really going on, and how unhealthy her life was at the time. As she said in 5F2, she can't get to a place where she "becomes Lady Gaga again" because what is all the work she done for? I think she realised that her personal life and family were more important than fans, and after she broke her hip, it changed everything. The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥

Yes that is true still based on her current lyrics she does have psychotic episodes or symptoms of it and regardless of how marijuana is being pushed (I am not questioning medical usage and the benefits of it) its still a psychoactive drug, there are plenty of cases of cannabis indused psychosis, i work as a social worker and most of the people who struggle with hallucinations, detachement, paranoia etc.. are heavy marijuana users. It can really change cognitive behaviour. I think its a factor that contributes to what you are saying about her situation with her management team. Many people self medicate because it can help to turn off for a while but based on interviews she did struggle with marijuana addiction and I think it did affect her creative practice. If anything I feel like that sort of DJ Snake complaint is something Gaga wouldn't stand or agree with? Him complaining about how it's frustrating to have the songs he worked on changed. I'm sure he still got payment for his time, and just a couple years ago Gaga praised how Chromatica was a collaborative environment where it didn't matter if someone's idea didn't get used or was changed DJWS was the main producer of ARTPOP, just as Garibay was for Born This Way. It's not an obsession or "keeping a hand of the projects" so much as it was his job and Gaga trusted him as her main collaborator for that project.
