This is exactly what the conservatives ultimately want. Lock women up into marriages they can't get out of at the age of 16 and force them to bear children over and over again, so they stay out of school and don't pursue diplomas, degrees and doctorates. They're trying to institutionally keep woman dumb and submissive. 

Obviously, the concept of LGBTQ+ people existing is an obvious flaw in the theory because like... the existence of lesbians, trans men and non binary people obviously renders their system of organizing society as obsolete and useless and exposes the inherant cruelty of it all. 

And honestly, every attack by right-wing pundits on the LGBTQ+ community at large is also an act of misogyny. If we are no longer at the table making noise, one less obstacle to make society return to 1940's gender roles.

I want to note that I am a disabled, now 32 year old autistic woman and a part of the LGBTQ+ community (bi/ grey ace). This is what I believe was trying to be done to me by my ex and his family/ friends (the locking up into marriage/ pushing children amongst other abusive things). It's too much to get into, but there's a lot of horrible stuff I went through in that relationship, and a lot of questionable things overall. I wasn't 16 and I wasn't forced into not going to school, although my disabilities force me into not being able to go back, but looking at the whole situation, I KNOW for a fact I was being taken advantage of/ manipulated/ abused. I knew during that I was in an abusive situation. No matter how many times I said I wanted NO children, it was constantly being pressured on me. There was just a lot of things that happened I can't even say and just SUPER weird things. Almost all parties involved were also conservative or conservative leaning. It was one of, if not the worst experience I ever had to go through(during AND after I broke it off), because I genuinely loved my ex, or rather, the façade he put on to lure me in. It took everything in me to ask myself if my life mattered, because that's what was at stake, and I finally was able to make the decision to end/ get out of the relationship. 

Based off of experiences I have had alone in my life, this spoke to me and it's honestly terrifying for women in general, but specifically young, underage girls. When I was that age especially, I would have done ANYTHING for someone. Literally thrown my entire life away for the sake of their wants & happiness because all I wanted more than anything was "love and romance". When you're young, you really are in such a vulnerable place, even if you don't think you are. I was still as vulnerable in my 20's. It can be so easy for someone to be manipulated/ groomed and it's truly disgusting. After reading the OP, I genuinely left to go get sick. While I guess I was more vulnerable than most at that age due to my disabilities and things, it just makes my stomach churn thinking about young girls in these circumstances and the vile, disturbing men/ group(s) of people that lead them into it. I just can't with all of it, it's honestly too much and makes me cry. People in this world continue to disappoint and disgust me. It makes me wish we were in a movie and we had some supernatural abilities to protect against this truly evil/ damaging thinking. Omg I don't even know if I'm making sense anymore, I'm sorry I'm just really disturbed by this whole thing
