Failing to win a Presidential primary/election doesn't mean you aren't smart, that goes for Bernie, Elizabeth, Kamala, and Pete. Winning an election, like Donald Trump did, doesn't mean you're smart. Again, debate vigorously his policy positions if you disagree with them, but questioning his intelligence and smarts is unnecessary. It’s barely different, let’s be serious here and not split hairs. Savviness is not smart + luck or anything else, it’s still pure brains. Trump and his team were smart enough to win the 2016 election, bc they actually did it. Idk why that basic statement is weird to say - bc it is not. If it makes you happy Pete’s clearly smarter than most people who ever ran for president. Tbh Trump is playing dumb most of the time and behind this sitcom acting that many buy there are efficient strategies. All is calculated and even the stupidity is used to make him relatable to some and it works. The guy scammed plenty of folks and had ties with russian mafia while being a promoter in NYC, he's a master at manipulation and all but a silly goofball.
