For sure his entire presidency was a **** show, but his denial of the severity of covid and lack of action was something that turned a lot more "moderate" voters away from him.

I remember him being interviewed quickly in the street by french TV. They addressed him in french and he really seemed to just know a little bit of the language.

I don't know for the other ones but I really wouldn't say he speaks french even if I red it everywhere.

You are welcome to disagree with this man's political views, but questing his intelligence or education specifically in the field of civics, is just silly and dishonest.

I think you might be referring to the clip of him offering his condolences after the fire in Notre Dame. It was thoughtful, if a little clumsy spoken, but is proof that his grasp of the French language is more than just conversational. 

I'm not sure exactly how many languages he is fluent in, but it's certainlly enough to not question his intelligence.

Oh I don't question his intelligence seing his Harvard background etc, just think that we hear he mastered plenty of languages but rarely got proofs so maybe that part of his resume was inflated to an extent.

If you could find the clip you are thinking of I'd love to see it, as far as I know that is the only time Pete has flexed his French publicly. But he is also pretty modest about not being fluent in as many languages as people give him credit for. It's still an impressive skill, at least to my dumb ass.

Oh you're not dumb, languages is mainly about memory I believe. Sometimes people can learn countless words but can't find smart solutions or vice versa, it's not what make you smart or silly don't worry!

The only silly and dishonest thing here is you acting like I called him dumb in general, when he clearly wasn’t smart enough to win the presidency, not come in at least second in the dem primary. All that and his policies are bad + the trust he’ll get it done isn’t there either. His approval ratings hovering around 38% (lower than Biden’s), the airline industry is a complete mess under his watch and he and Biden nearly staved off a rail strike that would have ruined everything.

He’s just not giving managerial incompetence… and neither is Kamala which isn’t surprising. Especially under the psycho conditions America is under, sadly, the next Dems in line look so mediocre.

Someone in this thread said Pete was intelligent, you responded by saying "he's not that smart." If you meant he isn't a savvy politician, that's different. That's not how I, or other users in this thread, interpreted your post. 

Failing to win a Presidential primary/election doesn't mean you aren't smart, that goes for Bernie, Elizabeth, Kamala, and Pete. Winning an election, like Donald Trump did, doesn't mean you're smart. 

Again, debate vigorously his policy positions if you disagree with them, but questioning his intelligence and smarts is unnecessary.
