The international community was for the first time united in not supporting the move. Putin - like EVERY other dictator of this day - is testing out how far he can go without being forcibly removed from power and each time the rest of the world is silent he grows bolder. I hope this move ends the bs on how he needs 'a way out to save face' - NO. He will not stop before he subjugates all Warsaw Pact countries. He needs to be stopped in Donbas (tbh he needed to be stopped all the way back in Georgia) - if not he'll move against Moldova, Romania, Poland... To the Westerners Eastern Europe is expendable but will they still try to 'give him an opportunity to save face' when he attempts to expand his influence into Germany? Almost a century ago, Hitler wanted the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia claiming that he was doing it for the Germans living there and now Russia does the same thing.
