FfFfFfFF 58,060
Previous days showed that the succesful countr-offensive in Kharkiv found the Russians retreating to the Oskil river. However, the river is NOT an impenetrable barrier, as the Ukrainians recently managed to regain control over the left bank of Kupiansk and now the settlements of Oskil and Yats’kivka. As such, according to many analysts, the Russians are preparing a defensive line at Svatove to defend what analysts say is the last good suplly line going from Donbas to Russia. The rethoric adopted by Putin after the defeat in Kharkiv was meant to highlight how much of a focus is the Donbas region to Russia. As the Ukrainians will put more pressure on northern Donetsk and Luhansk, the heavy battles which are already taking place here will only intensify. In Luhanks, the Ukrainian Army fully retook Bilohorivka, meaning now Russia no longer controls 100% of Luhansk (Luhansk is the only province that the Russians managed to occupy completely). Bilohorivka could be seen as a gateway towards the Luhanks region or to Lysychansk and Severodonetsk. That said, according to ISW, it seems that Ukraine is waiting for Lyman city to fall before they take the offensive to Luhansk (according to the Deep State map, Ukraine reached the outskirts of Lyman on 18 September). On the other hand, despite the setback in Kharkiv the Russians continue their slow paced march toward Bakhmut and Soledar, which started after the fall of Severodonetsk-Lysychansk and continued all through out the summer. Even though the Russians launched 8 failed attacks in Kharkiv and Donbas in the last 24 hours, they managed to expand near the settlements of Odradivka and Vesela Dolyna (Deep State Map). In Kherson there is a possibility the Ukrainians made some progress in the Kryvyi Rih direction (unconfirmed though) as Zelensky says retaking Kherson is still an aim of the Ukrainian Army.
