Ukraine makes slight progress around Lyman as Russia advances W of Donetsk

Yesterday we had news that Ukraine made progress in the direction of Lyman, liberating the settlements of Shurove, Dybrowa.

However, today it was revealed that the Russians made an advancement toward Krasnohorivka. The settlement is located further south, in the vicinity of Donetsk city.

This is not much but still note-worthy because the entire string of settlements surrounding Donetsk is the most well-fortified region in Ukraine. A Russian invasion was expected here since 2014 so many barriers were put in place to prevent it.

The situation in Kherson is unknown - though one thing we know is that Oleskandrivka is still under Russian control (see tweet above).

According to ISW, Russian forces will likely struggle to hold positions in eastern Kharkiv Oblast and in northern Luhansk Oblast as Ukrainian forces establish more positions on the east bank of the Oskil River.
