Your Favorite Chromatica Moments

Listening to Chromatica (with my Sennheiser headphones) when it released, while reading the lyrics. I was a B.A student (now M.A) and one of my final projects was a qualitative study about a leader of my choice. I chose gaga of course. I had 70% of the project already done prior the release. When she released this album, I changed a lot of the paper I wrote. I wrote about the emotional revolution gaga started with Chromatica. I read a couple books about gaga, tons of academic studies and different articles in domains like Psychology, Sociology, Art, Music and more. it all came together to a unified assay that claims that gaga is one the biggest cultural leader of our time. She did influence the global culture, as well the western society, and also the music, art and fashion domains. She changed my life forever, and the lives of millions (There are actually psychological studies about the influence of the song Born This Way on societal attitudes!). listening to Chromatica while writing a big academic assay was incredible. the album touched many dark places of my soul and made me feel heard, seen and empowered. I struggled mentally for many years and this album is part of my healing... I mean, 911, replay, fun tonight, Alice, sine from above and more- was like listening to some parts of my own soul. she gave words and sound to things I felt. I will always admire Chromatica. I wish it would've been bigger, so I could enjoy more Chromatica content, but its okay, cause I received the gift of Chromatica.

Moonlight on Water

When the album came out, I was still in high school, struggling with my mental health and the friends I had. I had my first official relationship, new groups of people, etc. Now I'm single, an adult, had 3 jobs, and I'm fixing to leave my area for a brand new chapter.

My favorite moments.. i think that would be every moment. I remember staying up for the SL music video release, and I was just so surprised by the artistry. I remember feeling devastated when the album was delayed, and I remember feeling ecstatic when a new date was announced. The rumor threads, the SSN performance with the SL face paint guy, etc. I remember waking up to Chromatica leaking and I refused to listen to it. Everyone was saying it sounded horrible, but I'm glad i stuck it out and waiting for 11pm to arrive.

I always knew Enigma was going to be a great song, and every song described the feelings I kept inside for over a year. I felt understood, for the first time in a long time. To experience that from people is one thing, but from art it's another. I think I'm excited to see what's next, and whatever does come next, i know it's going to be fantastic. I'm already living out the bad days for it. I'm already using it to tackle the suicidal thoughts. :vegas:

Oh, there's a lot:

I know this one is pre-Chromatica era but: January 2020, when all we had was those rumors about the album, along with leaks going back and forth and wondering whether those were real or not. I remember there was a bunch of videos with some mariachi song playing:ladyhaha: and then there was that one different video, and now when I think about it, it was actually the Stupid Love demo. :ohwell:

Both Stupid Love and Rain On Me mvs release days. I was so excited, I became so obsessed with both of them and I kept playing them for several days.

Obviously the album release day + watching the apple music interview.

The VMA's (especially because we had a watch party with people from GGD). :vegas:

The 911 mv release.

And The Chromatica Ball opening night + watching the livestreams on instagram and then looking for new links all over the twitter and GGD, because they were ending in the middle of the show. :ladyhaha:

I can't pick just one. After all I love this era (even if there were so many other plans that were scrapped for obvious reasons :interestinga:).

Yaaaas Gaga

Without shadow of a doubt The Chromatica Ball has been my favourite moment of this era. The album was MADE for a stadium concert and to finally get to witness it live after the tough couple of years we've had was such a special experience.

The Chromatica Ball was the best ever, the huge highlight. To see Gaga so happy performing, seemingly in total control of her body, her mind, and her talent, accepting that she is where she belongs, on stage, with no doubts or needs; just a consummate professional artist finally with nothing to prove to herself, or us, with mutual respect and admiration all round.

I’ve attended Balls since 2009, and now realize Gaga was either hurting, or medicated, or tried too hard to be confident in her own skin. Now, to experience her so free and joyful on-stage is a gift, a life experience to be treasured. I wish Gaga a long, happy, and healthy life, whatever she chooses to do.
