I guess this would be an attempt to take over their lost territory in Ossetia etc. while Putin is buried deep in his sh*t in Donbas. I honestly don't know how that would turn out... Nice of them to ask the people though

I wish my government would ask us when to invade our neighbors so we could shut it down. Instead, it's determined by Erdogan's popularity rate on the voting polls

I feel like they will get pounded. A big part of why Ukraine has been able to hold out and then actually turn the tides is because Russia did not do what most analysts initially thought it would do (which is to try and completely destroy Ukraine using ballistic missiles and next level weapons only short of going nuke). BUT Russia was actually initially being very picky and doing targeted strikes in Ukraine because it did not want to devastate the infrastructure in hopes that when it wins it can take over and annex lands that are not super devastated and would require massive reconstruction budgets. That ended up being a bad / horrible move for Russia cuz doing that actually gave Ukraine enough time to strengthen its military, change its strategy, obtain state of the art weapons from allies and funding etc...If Georgia opens a new front Russia will come down HARD on them. Especially because it would be in Russia's weak underbelly. The VERY vulnerable but probably most important region to Russia's imperialistic goals...AKA the Caucasus & Black Sea region. Without this region, Russia is virtually exposed and completely vulnerable in the South. A prolonged war with Georgia could set off a series of instabilities in that region. Russia will definitely not allow it. I see Georgia being completely pulverized. I hope they vote against this...I know the loss of Ossetia and Abkhazia is a huge issue but I rather Georgians at least have a viable, functioning nation than for them become the new Syria or Iraq and have their infrastructure completely carpet bombed by a world power.

As someone from the UK, I would advise against referendums on big decisions that should be left upto experts
