I’ve heard from a couple of different people that the Queen has already passed. This is to be taken with a big pinch of salt obviously, but their sources are people who would likely know.

The presenter on BBC News right now is in all black and they’ve suspended regular programming, so I would say all signs are pointing to an imminent announcement. I imagine the line about concern for her health and her being comfortable is a way to ease the news to the public while they go through all the formal protocol and preparations for the announcement, which are fairly extensive.

I hope she had (/will have) a peaceful passing and that her family is doing ok. Say what you will about the concept of Royalty in this day and age, but you can’t deny her commitment to her role in this life. All we can do is wait and see how it all unfolds, but personally I don’t think it’ll be too long now.

Nurses in hospital do that sometimes, when they ask family members to come quickly because the patient is unwell. That way, the news isn't shared on the phone, but rather when they arrive, making it seem like the patient passed after the call. Just a way to soften the blow. You're probably right, considering all the Officials' messages, the TV presenters, etc.

This. Her commitment has been truly unwavering for a role she was born into and no choice in. It's truly remarkable.

And for a lot of us, we can expect our parents and elder family members to be emotional about this when it happens. Her eventual passing is a reminder of the inevitability of the passage of time, and she's been a constant in the lives of most of us for our entire lives. Lots of people have close personal memories tied up with major royal milestones and events.

It is definitely bad.

BBC wouldn't cancel all scheduled shows and suddenly change into all black.

In my messy era.

Sorry I just remembered they’re already in the UK, they’ve been doing quite a few things in the country and surrounding countries the past week or so.

I wonder how Harry feels after all the drama he made her through
