What a gracious lady. The world is definitely a lesser place without her. I have never known a world where she wasn't Queen. As a living link to my grandparents' generation, losing HRH is like losing a little bit of them all over again too. I will be having my morning coffee in the coronation bone china cup and saucer that once belonged to my grandmother in tribute.

I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong

I don’t think she has passed yet.  Her family would already have been there and the BBC is showing live video of them arriving/travelling.

I think she is very likely to die shortly though.  The BBC presenters have changed their clothes to black so they will have been warned to brace for the announcement.

When they changed to wearing black, they knew. There was an embargo on the news of her death. She most likely passed around 1 pm. Rip

spread love ,kindness & compassion 👹🖤!!!!

Respect to her! She lived her duty and did it gracefully and with dignity. An icon and the ultimate matriarch. Rest in peace.

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not. If it is, no need for whataboutism, two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because there are injustices in the world that some people/countries don’t want to deal with doesn’t mean others can’t tackle there’s if they so choose.

And if it wasn’t, then yasss slayyyy lol

Thank you for your comment. It was sarcasm but not whataboutism. What I want to point out is the  ignorance of the need to make a smug comment about  the wrongs of the previous generation and colonization in this tread.Yes, colonization happened and people suffered. It is still happening in this age.Look no further than China and Russia.

The queen is the figure head of the state and she served that purpose  faithfully for a long time .She has no role in politics and no hand in the foreign policy or internal policies.

My country was under the colony of the British .Actually,we were given as a gift on the birthday of the ruling monarch at that time. Our country ‘s rubies are on the crown of the Queen.

I simply want to point out the unnecessaity to make a comment about loots and etc,etc in this thread. It is not like we are paying respects to Putin or Kim Jong Un.

RIP, complete respect for the Queen, yes the royals have had a turbulent past, as have a lot of other countries and kingdoms, but the modern royal family are really trying to turn that around. She's been through so many world events in her life and stayed loyal to the country and her people above all else and always stayed politically neutral. I tend to find that a lot of people who don't like the royals have a bitterness towards anyone with money or capitalism, so I get that there are a lot of people who don't like the royals. Doesn't change the fact that for millions of people she was an inspiration.

I suppose so. But I know I’m personally grieving while trying to be thoughtful of those with varying viewpoints. I know when Trump dies I will feel rightful in having absolutely no remorse. And those in the US who are sad at the time will get on my very last nerve. I can only imagine that’s how some Africans and Asians are feeling at the moment and considering I teach over 10 Nigerian students I’m trying to balance my sadness with reflection too. It would be hard and even inappropriate to tell my first generation students to feel sadness when they see this woman as the main beneficiary of the pillaging of their not so distant ancestors.

Why do so many people kiss the monarchies feet?

Because it brings stability and unites people, unlike politicians...
