Guest
She did look very skinny and frail in the last picture we saw of her. Crazy how fast it comes when you're old and suddenly this is it, the body shuts down, it's okay just a vehicle I believe there might be something else after this these days
Future Lovers 7,616
Harry reportedly has not yet arrived to Balmoral which could explain the delay on announcement if she has indeed passed already
Alannah 2,988
I can't imagine the global impact this is going to have. When a close member of my family passed, peacefully at home, it was such a surreal and oddly beautiful standstill of time. This woman was still a mother and grandma, to share that with the world is such a weird paradigm. Harry talking about sharing the grief of Princess Diana was so heartbreaking. I haven't been able to get any significant work done; my team has also just been following up on news outlets and whatnot.
Levine 23,958
I'm now realizing that there won't be a "God save the queen" anymore for what, at least 3 generations?

Yeah I remember my grandpa passing away it felt surreal, when another member of my family passed away at a young age it felt more like anger and depression, but when it's an old person it feels melancholic, nostalgic, sadness but then it gets pretty beautiful, just how I felt when I saw his body and he seemed to be sleeping like an angel, had a weird aura to it. It's life, I think passing away at an old age is great, the problem is when it's abrupt it hurts. Now I cant even imagine the whole world "grieving", would piss me off like no u don't know them **** off
Future Lovers 7,616
If she has passed already but Harry is not there, then knowing for sure today is unlikely. They would want all of the royals present for the announcement. If she has passed but Harry's absence is causing the delay, the announcement should come at 9 AM UK time tomorrow morning
Guest
this is so sad. I know it is controversial to like the Royals and follow their life but to me they have been such familiar faces and my family especially my mother was very keen on them. Everybody nearly in my elder family circles had a story to tell when they saw the marriage of Lady Diana and Prince Charles. It was such a huge event and something that brought people together from all over the world no matter what cultural background. When I flew to London with my English class in high school a few years ago I bought my mom a cup with William and Kate on it. She was so happy and her favourite cup to drink coffee out of to this day. It's that joy that this family still brings to so many people and I totally understand and think it's legitimate to critisize them or even boycott them and everything that this family stands for but I just wish that people understand what a huge impact this family had over the decades when it comes to bringing people together. That feeling of a global togetherness when watching the marriages of the Royals with awe. It's very eurocentric and white, of course but I feel like the sense of coming together is something that needs to be seen and appreciated for what it is, bringing people together. It's saddening to see such a familiar face go in a world where everything seems to fall apart.

Kind of crazy to think that unless there was a huge tragedy and Charlotte became queen, those probably won’t be the words again in our lifetimes. I don't wish the inevitable feeling of grief on anyone, but watching that process and the comfort in it is an experience I want for everyone's passing. Obviously, that's not going to be the case, but it's such a special period of time. I wanted absolute privacy from people in public because every interaction I had increased my emotions. I didn't want anyone to talk to me but I also wanted to shake people by the shoulders and say, "Don't you know what I'm going through?!"

Yup, i forgot to mention that, I also had to take a flight on the plane bcs he was in another country, and i kept thinknig omg i hope nobody comes to "visit" us to give condoleances bcs Im not in the mood for it and everything still feels like a dream. Anyways the whole flight I felt like it wasnt real then arrived there and like i said saw his body, tried to say goodbye and i was so glad that there was only familyl for a few days or else I felt like I would be pissed and be very rude. I didn't even leave that house for days, then some people arrived but I completely isolated from them and stayed in my room. I didn't wanna say Hi because just like you if they mention his name or say condoleances i'd struggle with having to fight back tears and it's tiring, my throat gets sore LOL Spoiler ive always felt guilt about that but when my other family who died at 50 suddenly i didnt go to the funeral and i didnt take the flight, and i isolated and i still feel bad about that but it was hard to take in. just goes to show how difficult it can be and to leave people alone if they find out the news
