And for a lot of us, we can expect our parents and elder family members to be emotional about this when it happens. Her eventual passing is a reminder of the inevitability of the passage of time, and she's been a constant in the lives of most of us for our entire lives. Lots of people have close personal memories tied up with major royal milestones and events.

My mom is gonna be so depressed. she LOVES the queen. She remembers when her mom woke her up at 2 am to watch the Queen (be coronated,  or a special ceremony) in the early 1950s. She always tells me she wants to meet the queen and wanted me to be as famous as LG (impossible,  believe me) so that I could meet the Queen just like she (LG) did.

there's not a lot of people who can say they lived through a world war and a global pandemic... i wonder if she kept diaries on her true thoughts on political issues where she's had to remain publically neutral her entire life

mother, what must i do?

I guess they could lose their influence in other countries if there's no support for Charles but otherwise i dont see how it would make a huge impact on the "world"

It will, just maybe not immediately. I’m gonna quote something I saw someone else say on another site that kinda sums up what this may end up looking like bc they said it better than I could:

“I get the feeling that a lot of people don’t grasp how titanic the shockwaves of her death will be. We can make jokes, but there aren’t so many people alive who can remember a world without her in it as the Queen. We go so long with something that it seems unchanging, that they become a fixture that really doesn’t seem to change.

The economic impact, the political impact, the societal impact, especially to people who are from the UK. Whether or not you like her, or maybe not her specifically, but the institution she embodies — it’s going to hit you, hard. I don’t think they’ll abolish the monarchy after she dies, it’s far too useful to do away with — but inevitably the question will be raised.

Forget about the trite economic impacts and changes, like the postage stamps, the currency, the tourist dollars.

It’s going to be one of the biggest events of the 21st century.”

I swear im not reading the people who are fighting or disagreeing on this thread because how out of place it is for a thread like this :huntyga: but something sure is that is a commom sense and kind of basic human respect to not make fun of someone who is dying no matter how bad that person was in real life

Thanks for cumming. - Madonna

I mean we know this, it's such a huge historical event we will live because she might be one of the most iconic and impactful royal in our generation and maybe even the next generations to come but still, will her death cause more inflation, will it change the economy for me in France, will it do anything economically of the sort in other countries like Brazil, Japan... I don't think so? That's why it sounds a bit dramatic

I honestly don’t know what goes inside the head of a person that reads the title of this thread and decides to get in here talking ****. Like do you have ANY human decency? She’s almost 100 years old, expecting her to be “progressive” is beyond ridiculous and stupid. What was right 100 years ago is not right today. Get off your high horses and have some respect. Y’all make me sick.

Finally someone said it

One massive change for the people in the UK will be Charles’ reign.  He has always been more willing to go against the crown’s expectations and does not stay “neutral” on political issues like the Queen has done.  He is quite liberal and will most likely be at odds with many of the Conservative’s plans for the UK, like the abysmal Rwanda policy.
