It's very likely that she already died and this is a way of easing the pain instead of a huge shockwave through the world.

When she dies, the general piblic won't be the first to know. They will keep it hushed up at first

"When Elizabeth dies, her private secretary will be the first official (i.e., not one of her relatives or part of a medical team) to convey the news. Their first act will be to contact the prime minister, where civil servants will convey the code phrase "London Bridge is down" to the prime minister using secure telephone lines.[1] The cabinet secretary and the Privy Council Office will also be informed by the private secretary.[3] The cabinet secretary will then convey the news to ministers and senior civil servants. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's Global Response Centre, based at a secret location in London, will communicate the news to the governments of the 14 other countries of which Elizabeth is queen (the Commonwealth realms), and to the governments of the other countries of the Commonwealth of Nations.[1] Government websites and social media accounts, as well as the royal family's website, will turn black, and the publication of non-urgent content must be avoided.[3]"

Yes that's how they want it to play out but some things wont go unnoticed, for example every senior royal rushing to Balmoral.

I don’t think she has passed yet.  Her family would already have been there and the BBC is showing live video of them arriving/travelling.

I think she is very likely to die shortly though.  The BBC presenters have changed their clothes to black so they will have been warned to brace for the announcement.

Turned on the news and they’re actually talking about her death oh wow

On french TV they also discuss it and say it's very worrying like with this thread sources but without announcing her death...

Now they don't seem super positive. :/

Because the palace never issues statements regarding her health since it's considered a private affair. For them to do so now is very worrying.

I literally gifted my 86 year old Nan a commemorative platinum jubilee tin of teabags this morning as she loves The Queen and when I saw it, I just had to buy it for her. She’s been very down lately and I really hope this news doesn’t upset her too much 😢

and apparently comfortable???

In the medical world, when they say that they are making the patient ‘comfortable,’ it usually means that they’ve administered some sort of drugs to make sure that that person isn’t feeling any pain as they depart. It’s kind of synonymous with palliative care.

HM is also Queen of Australia. An independent sovereign country, not a colony ;)

Wait :bradley:

I have a bad feeling about this :bradley:

Everything will change if she passed now. Lover her or hate her, it is like she is the last known figure that keep it together, and with her gone, everything will never be the same, we're going into the unknown then. :bradley:
