Indeed it's a huge taboo cause they feel like it's a deal breaker to admit you weren't born with these features. Like it gonna put down the myth they created or smt.

There's such a thing as having cosmetic surgery to repair damage done by accidents.

But why do we care if he's lying or not 

I'd hate if people constantly pointed out gagas cosmetic procedures like they do other celebrities even though she has never admitted to them 

I feel like the need to constantly interrogate celebs about the work they've had done  or why they look "good" in such a negative way Sterms from people's own insecurities. 

And that whole crap about setting "unattainable beauty standards" is such BS Because forcing celebrities to admit they've had work done won't fix people's insecurities neither will it change the beauty obsessed state that this world has always been in.

People do speculate about Gaga having stuffs done tho. And I think she mentioned hers discussing the "facial fillers" she was getting on Howard Stern show 8 years ago.

Actually I think it would help people to accept their own physic better if they realized how much of an illusion is often sold to them with celebs beauty. Not fix it altogether ofc but still help.

Now yeah the ideal would be for folks to be completely indifferent to these perfects physics they're bombarded with even when they're trying to avoid it but it's easier said than done, mainly for the young ones.

As you said beauty obsession was always around and we're nearly all concerned to an extent so... If it's inevitable, let's tell many that these done/ contoured/ filtered/ edited physics aren't what regular/faces/ bodies aging are and that while not reaching it they're not specifically sh*t out of luck lol.

Celebrities PERPETUATE these standards because they would rarely admit to it being down to superior nutrition/ intensive workout and healthcare supervised by professionals in their field.

More often than not, it's oh - use this simple skincare product/ routine, exercise for 30mins daily, do yoga, fasting or some ****. It's a lie and to impressionable minds of the mass, it's downright harmful.

They dont admit because they are always selling something - an actual product, their brand or their influence. So of course people are gonna feel resentful because it is all bullsh*t.

Because they get shamed for it as it’s seen as a ‘women’s thing’. Even women still get shamed and judged for it. That’s why I don’t blame anybody for not wanting to talk about it. It seems like you are doomed if you do, doomed if you don’t. I think we are still at a weird place with plastic surgery, it’s not THAT new anymore but it’s still fairly new and for sure the way we openly talk about it today is new so maybe we still need time to get over these weird preconceptions and judgments we have.

And they do that because they would get shamed for it if they would admit it. Like it or not, the blame goes both ways. Them not admiting out of fear and us being judgmental if they do admit it. Be more open minded and look at the problem from multiple point of view. For the longest time getting plastic surgery was seen as a negative thing, only in the past 10 years or maybe not even that we started talking about it so openly and we are still dealing with the previous old mentality. Change doesn’t happen overnight. People are still embarrassed and ashamed about it because we make them feel that way. If it was truly normalized, nobody would care to hide it. So as I said, they have their blame for not being strong and brave enough to just admit to it and we have our blame for constantly nitpicking on their looks and creating insecurities and then judging them for making changes to their bodies.

These Beauty standards / humanities obsession with trying to look better than the next person has always existed long before they were even celebrities to perpetuate them, so this idea that beauty culture is degenerating because of celebrities not telling you what they do is complete bull ****.

At the end of the day,  no matter how many mental hoops you want to jump to justify this unnecessary social policing, what this man does with his face is non of your business,he's not selling any product to you so your sentiment does not match the scenario .
