Not all music is designed for bopping. This is something that I would sit down and appreciate as a whole work.

I can see that for other people. I think it’s the spoken word like vocal delivery that puts me off. It’s jarring for sure.

beautiful visuals but do people actually get into their car and put this on? I don’t understand the appeal beyond the visuals.

I legit listened to it on full blast on my way to work this morning :ohwell:

That's actually an old Icelandic singing technique. When the Danish conquered and took over Iceland, they banned singing and dancing for the Icelandic people. So they came up with a singing style that sounds like speaking so they were still able to make music but wouldn't get caught by the Danish.

I love to listen to music for the musics sake, that being said, I never got into her music. I prefer this angle of Art more in the realm of techno, to put it lightly.
But I understand what people can get from her, music truly can be like a great painting, like a novel or a sculpture if you give it the space needed. So good for y’all who enjoy her ♥️

I get what you're saying but this isn't meant to be played in your car lmao :ladyhaha:

Like some Björk fans go hard (like myself) and absolutely will blare this anytime, anywhere - but this is more like an art piece that you are meant to contemplate and unpack. You watch Top Gun when you want to be entertained, and you watch a David Lynch movie like Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me when you want to have an experience that f*cks with your head a bit. Both are valid media forms, both are great - but they each require a very different approach and serve different purposes.

And funnily enough Björk has Top Guns AND Twin Peaks in her discography :ally:
